Back in September a newly registered domain for “Magic Knight Rayearth” new TV anime adaptation has teaser that it will reveal more information about the project first announced in July 2024. Now the website has announced that the new TV anime based on CLAMP’s Magic Knight Rayearth manga will begin broadcast in 2026. In addition, the website was also updated with a new teaser visual which the anime X( formerly Twiitter account) released.
Magic Knight Rayearth follows three eighth-grade girls who find themselves transported from modern-day Japan into a magical world, where they are tasked with rescuing a princess. Rayearth combines elements from the magical girl and mecha anime genres with parallel world fantasy.
CLAMP first published Magic Knight Rayearth (Majikku Naito Reiāsu) in the manga magazine Nakayoshi from the November 1993 to February 1995. A sequel was serialized in the same manga magazine and ran from the March 1995 to the April 1996. It was published by Kodansha in three bound volumes from July 1995 to April 1996. The manga was adapted into two anime series in 1994 and an original video animation (OVA) in 1997.
