On Tuesday reports suggested that Netflix was fast tracking their live-action adaptation of Demon Slayer manga following the success of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle at the box. Now Crunchyroll CEO Rahul Purini has revealed that they are campaigning for the anime movie to get nominations at the Oscars.
“We believe the movie is incredible: the animation, the story, the quality in every aspect. We will do everything possible to ensure this movie is considered in ALL THE CATEGORIES it could qualify for.”
Since it release Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle – Part 1: Akaza Returns ha grossed $556 million worldwide. The anime film is currently the highest-grossing film of 2025 in Japan, the highest-grossing Japanese film worldwide, the second-highest-grossing film in the country’s history, and the ninth-highest-grossing film of 2025.
